The definition of New Wave is something that has never been agreed upon, with some people labeling nearly every band from the early 80s New Wave, while other die hard New Wave fans are sure the term only means their favorite bands. New Wave music history might be a hard story to tell, but the long lasting legacy of New Wave means that no one is going to stop trying any time soon.
Tears for Fears & Daryl Hall & John Oates – North American Tour 2017
Daryl Hall & John Oates and Tears for Fears will unite this summer for a co-headlining North American tour. The 29-date arena trek kicks off May 4th in Tulsa, Oklahoma and concludes July 28th in Los Angeles. Soul singer Allen Stone will open each show with an acoustic set.
Tickets and VIP packages go on sale Friday, March 10th at 10 a.m. local time. American Express cardmembers can access a special pre-sale, which runs from Tuesday, March 7th at 10 a.m. through Thursday, March 10th at 10 p.m. local time. (The July 28th concert in Los Angeles goes on sale Friday, March 17th at noon.)

Tears for Fears are an English pop/rock band formed in Bath in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. Tears for Fears rose to prominence with their multi-platinum second album, Songs From the Big Chair, followed in 1989 by the equally-successful Sowing the Seeds of Love.

Aztec Camera was the brainchild of Roddy Frame, a Scottish songwriter and vocalist whose precocious talent — he was still in his teens when the band cut their acclaimed debut album, High Land, Hard Rain — earned the band a loyal cult following. With Frame’s knack for catchy, upbeat melodies and wordplay that often invited comparisons to Elvis Costello, Aztec Camera became a major critical favorite in the U.K. and the U.S., even as the band went through frequent personnel changes.
